Contact Bazaar Awards – Sponsored by Pepsi
On October 20, 2011, registered attendees of Contact will be eligible to participate in the Bazaar, a midday open market of demos throughout the Angel Orensanz space. Small spaces are available for free, and larger ones for a fee. There are no limits on Bazaar activity. Space may be used to share or sell, teach or tell.
Participants in the Bazaar may also elect to enter the Contact Bazaar Awards, by checking the appropriate box on the Bazaar Exhibition Space Application Form. The Contact Bazaar Awards, made possible by a donation from Pepsi, are meant to encourage the conception and deployment of innovative networking and technology solutions to our greatest collective challenges. $10,000 to be awarded to each of the three most compelling and achievable ideas presented during the Bazaar. Winners will also have the opportunity to utilize a specially promoted area on IndieGogo for additional fundraising.
Entries are eligible at any stage of development, from raw idea to fully released and functional project. A panel of judges will be responsible for evaluating the registered projects, so entrants should consider that judges may not be able to spend more than five or ten minutes at any particular demo. Judges will be particularly interested in ideas that promote activity or awareness in one of Contact’s main areas of focus: Technology and Society, Business and Economics, Arts & Learning or Government.
The deadline to enter the Bazaar has now passed. See you on the 20th!
Note: You must register to attend Contact before applying to the Bazaar.
